Question Ok, now it's MY turn to freak!

The other day I went to trim nails on Buddy and I'm like, "What the hell is that!?" He had something on the top his right foot, almost between the toes...I thought it was a Tick, but on closer inspection, it looked more like some kind of 'growth'. I'm thinking, a Wart?? I really had to look at it to see if it wasn't the Tick all blown up but it does look like it's attached more to the foot, more like a growth. So I'm freaking out, showing my husband and we both don't know what to think and he's like, why don't you show it on your Chat? LOL What a guy! So here I am! Buddy is due for his rabies shot soon so I will be making an appointment with the vet for sure. And whatever it is, I want it off and tested. Hubby thinks he's too young for Cancer but gosh, ya never know. I really think having it tested will put my mind at ease. Has anyone else ever gotten a wart?? And the bad thing is, this morning, Buddy has been licking at it making bleed and look like your hands do when they are in water a long time!! It was all dried looking when I first saw it....now he's got it looking icky....I tried post a few attachments here, but it wouldn't go! It said, Sending to DC but nothing happened for several minutes. I'll try again later but you'll have to see a pic to get a feel for this. It's hard to get a clear one up close too

Thanks Michelle, I will look at that site. Here's one pic from this morning after he was licking at it. It's not the clearest pic, sorry.

This is what it looked like when I first saw it..before he started licking at it! The fact that he is licking it makes me think it is bothering him, no?

It looks like a wart. I don't think because he's licking it necessarily means it bothers him. Have your vet check it out.

I will Michele. Thanks. Can they get rid of warts like they do on people?? Geez, I hope so. It looks so nasty now and these little types of growths sometimes are cancerous. Scary! I want it gone!

I'm sure they can get rid of it at the vets if it just a wart MyBuddy. I'm with you, though, I'd want it analized to see what it is. I've seen some eruptions on Herc from flea bites that get all pussy and red like that before but this is just in the one spot right? And the more I look at it it does look like a wart. Herc has one on his private part that looks similar to the hardened one in your second picture. It doesn't seem to bother him though so I've just left it alone. I mean, it's not gorwing any bigger and it's been there for several years. I can see where right between his toes that this would bother Buddy more though. That's probably why he's licking is so much. Herc is obsessive about washing his feet every night. So this could have started out as a little irritation and he's just aggrivating it now. Can you put something on it that's tastes bad so he won't want to lick it so much? I would use something drying like an antimcrobial ear wash or something like that. Then just put a bandage and even a sock over it to keep him from licking it until you can get him in to see the vet. Now that he's got it all open like that it's bound to get infected, if it already isn't, because he's putting it on the ground everywhere he goes. Just my opinion. Hope it turns out to be something minor and the vet can get rid of it right away.

Ewww, Yeah, I'd freak too. Deffinitely have the vet take a look at it. Looks like whatever it is is all 'po-ed' from him pestering it.

Hope it turns out to be "nothing important". At least it's in a "good" area...away from all the vital organs & such!!
